The Dixie Chicks are taking no prisoners with their newest album, and it’s a good reason for you to buy it. OK, not really. You shouldn’t buy their album because of what the Chicks say; you should buy Taking the Long Way Home
because you think it’s good. And good it is. From what I’ve heard every song is equally playable, which I find to be rare on most CDs. Every song also happens to have a definite message, and it’s not the usual Country Music tired old “my wife left me, my dog left me, then I got fired, then I got thrown out of the bar” crap. Which is fine, since Country Music stations will probably never play a single song. Good. Now I can listen to them without shame. But I’m still waiting for my copy.
